A shocking murder in 1985 sends ripples through a world that once revered its superheroes but now views them with suspicion and fear. The victim is a government-sponsored hero, one of the few remaining from a time when masked vigilantes roamed the streets with a mission to protect the innocent and fight evil. But the world has changed since those glory days. The public has turned against these once-beloved figures, leading to the outlawing of all masked crimefighters.
