In a silent world where words hold no power, a devout community thrives on strict beliefs and rituals. At the heart of this community is Azrael, a young woman who has escaped from their oppressive grasp. Her freedom, however, is short-lived, as the community, led by fervent leaders, relentlessly hunts her down. Azrael’s flight through the wilderness is fraught with danger, both from her pursuers and the elements. When she is finally recaptured, the community reveals its dark intentions. Azrael is to be sacrificed to an ancient evil that lurks in the wilderness, a being that the community believes will bring them favor and protection.
